Individual Giving
Invest in the Next Generation of Engineers
Every UMPPF student has a story. Your support helps write the next one.
A scholarship that made college possible.
A co-op that turned into a career.
A connection that changed everything.
For more than 75 years, the University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation has helped students build meaningful careers in engineering. Behind every one of those success stories is someone who chose to give.
Your Impact, Realized
Your gift directly supports students as they pursue engineering degrees and prepare for careers in a growing, evolving industry. At UMPPF, support is not abstract. It shows up in classrooms, on job sites, and in the lives of students every day.
It helps:
- Fund scholarships that reduce financial barriers
- Support programs like Consider Engineering, where students first discover their path
- Create opportunities for co-ops, networking, and leadership development
- Strengthen the connection between students and industry

Create a Lasting Legacy
Endowed scholarships are one of the most meaningful ways to give.
How Endowed Giving Works
Each endowed scholarship fund is:
- Carefully managed by the Foundation’s Investment Committee
- Used solely to support student scholarships
- Designed to provide ongoing impact for future generations
These funds provide long-term, sustainable support for students year after year. They can be created to honor a mentor, recognize a loved one, or give back to a program that made a difference.
A Scholarship That Carries Your Name
Endowed gifts become Named Scholarships when they reach $10,000. For many donors, this is a meaningful way to:
- Honor someone who shaped their journey
- Recognize a mentor or colleague
- Leave a lasting mark on the future of the industry
